McGladrey Team Championship

It is your chance to do what few can boast in their golf careers – to be part of a national championship. The McGladrey Team Championship, the first nationwide grassroots best-ball amateur championship conducted by The PGA of America, will mark its third year with a new title, an enhancement to its format and a third consecutive return for the National Championship at Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort. The McGladrey Team Championship is slated for October 26-28, 2009 at Pinehurst Resort, N.C.

  • The Local Qualifying Event offers a round of golf, tee gift and chance to advance to play at the Northern California McGladrey Team Championship.
  • The Northern California McGladrey Team Championship offers a round of golf at D'Andrea Golf Club, tee gifts and sharing the combined (Pro and Amateur) purse of $22,000 in the form of gift certificate prizes for placing.
  • The chance to advance to the 2009 McGladrey Team Championship.
  • The National Event offers two rounds of golf at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
  • Teams will compete on three of Pinehurst’s premier layouts: No. 8, No. 2 and No. 4.

  • Contact your local PGA Professional to see if your facility is hosting a local qualifying event.  If your facility is not hosting a local qualifying event, Click Here to find a facility near you.  If you would like a facility to host a Local Qualifying Event that has not yet registered to do so, please contact the PGA Professional at that facility.
  • Gather your team - Teams are composed of three amateurs. Each amateur must have an established USGA approved handicap index. The total maximum handicap index of all three partners combined will be no more then 54.0 if all male, 70.0 if one female, 80.0 if two female and 90.0 if all three female.
  • Amateurs will play at each level of the championship (local, section, national) using 75% of their course handicap.
  • SAVE THE DATE! The Northern California Section Championship will be held at D'Andrea Golf Club in Sparks, Nev on August 24, 2009!
