Overview

The Northern California Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association is an organization committed to helping others through the game of golf. With 1,100 dedicated PGA Professionals and apprentices at over 400 golf facilities in Northern California and Northwestern Nevada, the association continues to have a positive impact on the game of golf both regionally and nationally.

Organized in 1920 to promote interest in the game of golf, the birth of this association was heralded as an important step to the advancement of the game in this district. The Northern California Section is one of the forty-one designated sections of the PGA of America, the world’s largest working sports organization.

This section comprises all of Northern California extending from the northern border of the state to a southern boundary formed by a line between the city of Cambria on the coast and the state line near Beatty, Nevada, and includes Porterville, CA. Also incorporated in the section is that portion of Northwestern Nevada bounded by a straight line running directly south from the western boundary of Idaho to the 38th degree latitude, then west to the California-Nevada border and down to Beatty. With over 1,100 PGA Professionals and apprentices, this association of golf professionals focuses at providing the benefits of golf to people as individuals as well as to the community.

The association provides support to its golf professionals in the following areas: Education, Employment, Professional Tournaments, and Marketing/PR Services.

Through its NCPGA Foundation, the association is also committed to supporting numerous community outreach and player development programs conducted by highly trained PGA golf professionals at courses, clubs and range facilities throughout the section. The Northern California PGA is proud to be recognized as a progressive and model section within The PGA of America.
