Changing Lives One Swing at a Time
Our Mission Statement is: The NCPGA Foundation is dedicated to Growth of the Game programs that teach the history, tradition, values, rules, etiquette and skills of golf. The foundation also supports programs that improve awareness, access and retention to the game.
Our foundation was launched in late 2000 to serve the NCPGA membership by supporting their player development programs. A committee has been formed to set the direction of ongoing fundraising efforts and grant programs.
In the past, we have provided grant monies for golf programs including those for juniors, women, the underserved, schools, physically challenged, Special Olympics and high school teams. We also support development of and resources for innovative instruction programs which convey the social and life skill values of the game. Many of the recipient programs assist not only in their local area but reach other regions of Northern California and Northwestern Nevada.
Fundraising efforts are being expanded. Many programs are in place and are ongoing. Events and pro-ams are scheduled throughout the year with the foundation being the primary benefactor. Through our foundation, partnerships with corporations provide win-win opportunities.
We will continue on the path of our predecessors in supporting programs through our grant program. The Foundation supports our section’s efforts to grow the game, thus helping to ensure the vitality of the game and the business of golf. Our professional members and apprentices are encouraged to pitch in and become involved with these worthy fundraising initiatives. As a result, our communities, customers, the NCPGA Foundation, as well as our club professionals, benefit.
